The Four Queens is on Fremont Street in downtown (i.e., “old” Las Vegas aka “before the Strip”). Group room rates are $59/night for one king bed ($66.67 including 13% tax) and $79/night for two queen beds ($89.27 with the tax). There is no resort fee (for Wi-Fi, etc. but parking is $5/day for hotel guests and valet service is available). These rates will be honored up to Monday, 29 August and may be honored after that at the hotel’s discretion. Reservations will be guaranteed by payment of the first night’s charge. Guests will be charged for their full stay on check-in. Guests will also be charged a $100 deposit on check-in to cover incidentals (refundable on check-out). Check-in time is 1600, check out time is 1200.
Reservations can be made by calling the central reservations number (800) 634-6045, option 1. Guests must mention the group name, MCEA, to receive the group rate. Note that the hotel’s rates for Friday and Saturday night are higher should you decide to come earlier or stay later. Individual reservations may be cancelled up to 48-hours in advance with full refund. After that, the first night cost will be forfeited.
As of 10 Feb 2022, the State of Nevada removed mask requirements and does not require proof of vaccination. Masks remain optional if you desire to wear one. Maid service is available, but many guests are opting out and just retrieving fresh towels on their own. The restaurants in the hotel are all open.
Those flying to Las Vegas, McCarran Airport is being renamed for Sen Harry Reid, but it is still airport code LAS. Transportation between the airport and hotel is several options:
- Ride-share shuttle serves both strip and downtown hotels, so the trip takes 30-45 minutes with multiple stops. Cost posted is $30 round-trip per person.
- Taxi, Uber, and Lyft all operate from terminals. Taxi fare is $30-$35 per trip rates set by state.
- City Bus $6 for 2-hour pass.
- Rental car (presuming you want to do more sight-seeing than our planned tour(s).
Deadline dates:
Monday, 29 August: Last day for MCEA to cancel with full refund. Last day for room reservations at guaranteed rate. Last day for “early bird” rate for Awards Banquet.
Monday, 12 September: Guaranteed attendance numbers due.
48 hours before arrival – Room reservations may be cancelled without penalty. After that first night rental will be charged.

1800-2300 Awards Banquet ($70 per person “early bird” by Monday, 29 August; $80 after that; Awardee and one guest are free)
Wednesday, 29 September Tours/activities on own or in small groups.

NOTE ON TOURS
We investigated tour options and while there are several, we did not find anything we felt would have broad appeal due to either cost, duration, lack of wheelchair access, or whatever. We suggest you investigate online and perhaps consider gathering a small group of friends to do what appeals to you. One suggestion, try to get past the “consolidator” sites and down to the actual individual tour operator as their prices are a bit lower than the consolidator prices.
Note: PayPal does not allow “no cost” options so there is not a drop-down for Awardee/Guest for either the Welcome Reception or the Awards Banquet nor payment for the Business Meeting. However, you must include those counts on your Registration Form.
